Description:

Marlin, an anxious and over-protective clownfish, lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his kid Nemo, who longs to explore the world beyond their anemone home. But when Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney, Marlin faces his fears and sets off on an epic adventure across the ocean. With the help of lovable characters such as optimistic Dory, laid-back sea turtle Crush, and the supportive Tank Gang, Marlin and Nemo both overcome challenges on their journey to find each other and themselves.

Director's Vision Statement

Climb aboard explorers and hold on tight as we dive into the undersea world of Finding Nemo Jr.!  When Nemo is taken from the reef by a diver, his dad, Marlin, sets off on a journey across the ocean to bring him home.  Marlin meets a forgetful blue tang named Dory and together they fight sharks, swim with sea turtles, and are even swallowed by a whale! All of this takes place while Nemo is making some unexpected friends of his own at 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney. This energetic show is the perfect choice for…. well, everyone! Students of every age and skill level will have an opportunity to shine. Finding Nemo Jr. calls for strong singers, dancers, and actors, but will also be a great learning experience for those new to theatre. The ensemble in this show will have lots of stage time and when they aren’t on stage will be singing just off stage in practically every number. No one will have much down time in this action-packed show.

At auditions, each student will have two minutes to shine. We ask that you please prepare a song and monologue to perform in that time. For this show, finding a monologue could be as easy as watching your favorite Disney movie and picking a section of dialogue spoken by your favorite character. However, please don’t pick from Finding Nemo as our script closely follows the dialogue from the movie. The characters in Finding Nemo are larger than life so, when preparing your audition, you should consider picking a song and monologue that show a lot of personality. I would recommend listening to the recording of the show from Walt Disney World to get a taste for the style of music. While our music is not identical, many of the songs from Walt Disney World are very close to what we will be performing. Feeling nervous about your audition? Just Go with the Flow, take a deep breath, stand tall, and know that we are all on your team and rooting for you to do your best!

I am so excited to dive into the Big Blue World with all of you! See you soon!
