Summer Camps

Plan now for CYT summer camp to be part of your summer schedule!
We have made some exciting changes to our camps, and are eager to tell you and your family!

Camps for 5 to 14 year-olds

We will have five “Camp Disney” summer camps for 5-14 year-olds. For the first time, “Our Gang”, the 5 to 7 year-olds, will stay all day! Many parents have asked for this, so we checked with other CYT’s around the nation and found that they are having success with the program. Now parents won’t have to come at noon to get their Our Gang camper and return at 3 for their older kids.

Camp Disney will offer musical theater workshops focusing on voice, dance and drama, all built around those great Disney songs. Campers will enjoy making new friends as they build self confidence and vital performance skills that are useful in all areas of life. Worship, scripture memorization challenges, team-building time, wacky themed days, and high-energy competitive games will also be incorporated, promising campers a great summer experience. And to close out the week, all campers will showcase what they've rehearsed at an exciting Friday night performance for family and friends.

NEW! Intensive Skill Camps for ages 12-18

We have completely changed the structure of our older camps, They will no longer be based on a theme, but on a skill.

We will have three camp intensives: drama, dance, and voice. At each camp we will have two levels: beginner and intermediate/advanced. Campers will be challenged to improve their skills in these areas. We will continue to have worship time and scripture memorization, but there will be much less time spent on fun and games, and more spent working hard to gain the skills needed to get good roles in musical theater. Older beginning students who complete a camp intensive in a subject will not need to take the beginning level in our regular class sessions, but can move to level 2.

We have three dates and locations for the skill intensive camps.

• June 18-22 Dance -The Crossing Church, 6265 Shadowbend Place, The Woodlands

• July 30-Aug 3 Vocal -  Wildwood Methodist Church, 8911 FM 1488, Magnolia

Camp Pricing and Enrollment

• Enrollment in these camps will be limited, so enroll early to get the camp you want!
• There will be no price increase for camp this summer. Our basic rate will be $175 with special early bird rates! 
• Registration opens February 1st, and for the month of February only, we are offering the recession-busting price of $125 per camp!
• In March and April the cost will be at the early-bird rate of $150 per camp.
• During these months you can register for all three intensive camps for $425.
• Regular price applies from May 1st on, but you can register for all three intensive camps for $500.
• Beginning in March, there will be a $10 discount for additional children in the same family.

Disney summer camp job openings

We will have lots of openings this summer for camp workers!
Disney Theme Camp, 5-14 year-olds, we need the following:

• Our Gang teacher—this is now a 9 to 3 position, not just 9 to noon as in the past. Also, this year we are including 5 year-olds, so the group is ages 5 to 7.
• Our Gang aide (must be at least 18)
• Drama teacher
• Voice teacher
• Dance teacher (and possibly aide, must be at least 18)
• One of the three teachers will also be the director in charge of the showcase, and will receive extra compensation. If enrollment is over 60, we will probably add a fourth teacher.
• Games person, half day

Intensive Skill Summer Camp opening

We will have lots of openings this summer for camp workers!
We will have three skill intensive camps, (dance, drama, and voice) and each one needs the
following:

• Lead teacher, to design curriculum and teach intermediate/advanced level
• Second teacher to teach beginning level
• One to two aides, depending on enrollment
• The teachers need to have extensive training and teaching experience in the skill area (dance, drama, or voice). The dance teacher should have classical training in addition to musical theater experience.
• The aides also need to have training in the skill area. Aides for intensives must be at least 19. Aides will earn minimum wage.
• We will also be taking applications for student volunteers. In order to volunteer at a camp, you must fill out our student volunteer application.
