Mashup of Emotion - 22 songs to make you laugh, cry, and jump for joy while highlighting the use of 4 Chords. Our medley “4 Chords” will take us on a journey through the ages highlighting songs that feature 4 common chords, I - V - vi- IV.  These chords and the way a composer/songwriter chooses to structure them in a song can bring out all different emotions through music.  
We will embark on a journey through multiple decades, as well as a variety of styles, artists, and emotions as we study our medley.  You will feel the pull to laugh, cry, and jump for joy.  To give you a little bit of an idea of what to expect, this medley is made up of  22 songs, including Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin”, John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads”, Elton John’s “Can You Feel the Love Tonight”, The Beatles’ “Let It Be”, and Bon Jovi’s “It’s My Life” to name a few.

Our class will dissect the decades of music history, musical styles, array of artists, and emotions each piece brings out in them.  And the title “4 Chords” offers a great segue into some music theory study and music literacy lessons.  We will also work on our performer’s presence, delivering clear and confident lines, note precision, breath control, and text clarity in our time together.
