Description

Nothing marks the winter season more than The Nutcracker and Jingle Bells. What if these iconic pieces of music were to collide? Find out how cool this musical mash-up is and how fun it is to sing in an ensemble.
This class focuses on and contains:

* Fun vocal warm-ups targeting healthy vocal technique
* Games concentrating on good diction and musical expression
Ensemble singing and its importance
* Choral skill, and technique
* Developing an ear for harmony/ear training 
* Understanding pitch relationships
* Unison and 3-part singing

This class is for the more experienced singer, but singing in an ensemble previously is not a requirement. Singing is more fun when you can do it with others!
Prerequisite: Must have completed 2 classes in Beginning/Intermediate Voice **Please do not sign up for this class unless you have met the prerequisite

Lindsay Elgin

Lindsay Elgin is a returned CYT voice teacher and a professional choral singer in the Houston Area. She has sung with the Kingwood based a cappella choir Evōk and was a part of the choir that sang backup for Josh Groban. Community and church ensembles are her favorite and speciality. She has been in three community theater productions with The Players Theater Company. Working with the Owen Theater was her lead into working with CYT. She started with CYT in the Spring of Lockdown in 2020. During her CYT sabbatical she has produced and performed in a musical review of Stephen Sondheim's greatest hits, graduated from Houston Christian University with a Bachelors of Music, completed her first year of teaching middle school choir in Aldine ISD, and is leading her church’s youth choir. She is happy to be working with CYT again and is excited serve Christ through song.
