  • Industry terminology, etiquette, and expectations
Students will also work on scene study and short on-camera scenes, learning how to:
  • Break down a script
  • Make strong, truthful acting choices
  • Adjust performances for the camera
  • Take direction and apply it in real time
In addition to technical skills, this workshop emphasizes a values-driven approach to the entertainment industry. Students will be encouraged to:
  • Develop discernment when navigating roles and opportunities

Counselor:

Christine Tonkin

Christine is a wife and mother of two who has always had a love for the creative arts. As a teenager she loved the stage and acting and would pray for opportunities to be an actress in family friendly content and faith-based content. Through a string of events of her trying to "make it" in the industry in Hollywood she felt like this was no longer for her. She instead focused on theater, teaching, her husband, and family! Christine and her husband, Jeff, have owned a photography business for 16 years and in recent years have been called back into the industry and this time working in many behind the scenes crew jobs. She started by using her photography skills and serving on film sets taking production photos and creating EPK packages. In 2019 Christine started working in the Christian film industry as a Production Director, Performance Director, and Script Supervisor on the Tv series Breaking Strongholds. Christine has been blessed to also work on the movie, Stealing the Show, as a set designer. She recently worked on the episodic series pilot, The Glitch, as lead Costumer designer and line producer. She has also been able to use her photography and marketing talents as the set photographer and EPK photographer for the movie, Into the Spotlight, The Youth Group, Stealing The Show, Breaking Strongholds and various short films. Christine has a strong passion for excellence, attention to detail, and helping bring intentional film/TV content to the world that will impact a viewer to ask questions, laugh and ultimately be pointed to knowing Jesus!
