The stakes are higher than ever in this dynamic stage musical, as SpongeBob and all of Bikini Bottom face the total annihilation of their undersea world. Chaos erupts. Lives hang in the balance. And just when all hope seems lost, a most unexpected hero rises up and takes center stage. The power of optimism really can save the world!

Directors Vision

My vision for the production “Spongebob the Musical” is “a wonder of neon psychedelic delight.”  Everything is bright and flashy.  The central theme of the story is optimism and in this day and time, we need that a lot.

The enormous number of roles makes this an ensemble production.  The characters from the cartoon series that many know and love are included in our character list, along with pirates, mob fish, sardines, and more fish of all kinds. All of the of the costumes will be very bright and patterned after the Broadway version of the show. There are multiple genres in the score, giving us the opportunity to have multiple styles of dance including tap, hip-hop, and classical Broadway dance.

My hope is that we can take the message of eternal optimism throughout our show from auditions to final bows and on out into our own personal little towns. When we all value each other, and believe in each other like SpongeBob does, we can become better humans.
