Class Description

PERFORMANCE-BASED CLASS! Be a part of CYT Houston's Play Festival!!!

We will audition and rehearse our play during classes, then perform our play at our ticketed CYT Houston Play Festival on the evening of FEBRUARY 21, 2021.  The Festival will be the culminating performance for all of our Project Play classes and a wonderful chance to celebrate different genres of theater together.  Registration in this class also includes 2 tickets to the play festival.

Radio Reimagined! Our Miss Brooks and Sam Spade Episodes
From the 1920's to the mid 1950's, radio was the predominant form of home entertainment. Families would gather in front of the radio in the evenings to enjoy their favorite comedies, mysteries, westerns and variety shows.  We will learn how this was done and actually cast and record some classic radio shows, like Our Miss Brooks and Sam Spade, that will be produced and posted online for everyone to enjoy. This class will be fun for everyone as you recreate some of the most famous characters in entertainment history and also learn how to create sound effects in radio production.

*The Radio Show will be performed LIVE at the Play Festival on February 21. We also plan to record the Radio Shows.

Brandon Christian

Howdy! I love all things music from performing to the production side. I've been in musical productions from elementary to Atascocita High School along with being in tech production since I was 12. I've also been on church worship staffs as a worship leader and production director and have been involved in large scale church productions. I love being a part of this amazing CYT family. There's no other theater company like it!
