Class Description

Directing a stage production is challenging and multidimensional.  All aspects of the creative process should culminate in an experience that is seamless and entertaining to the audience, and satisfying to the cast.

We will examine Straight Plays vs Musicals and the differing challenges of each.  Highlights will be:
1.      Guest directors, choreographers, and music directors.
2.      Organization and implementation of a script.
3.      Casting
4.      Every theater space has its opportunity for growth!
5.      Bringing your sets to life
6.      Costuming and their impact on the total show
7.      Time management
8.      Working within a budget

Each week we will work on our production from the director’s perspective and team up to create an exciting show!
