In this specialty class, we will look at the basics of scenic painting. Scenic painting is one of the tools used to create an immersive theatre experience. This skill can transform plain, flat set pieces into part of an imaginary world. It adds color, texture, and size to a director’s vision for their story. In our class time, we will explore color theory, how to scale images from our sketchbooks to our walls, and how to create some of the most commonly used surfaces in our shows. You don’t need to be an accomplished artist to create - just come and learn!
