Class Description

Story Theatre uses simple staging, narrators, and imagination to bring stories to life and incorporates many drama skills like writing, character work, simple directing and design. Story theatre can be created through different forms, like narrative pantomime, interactive audience storytelling, or more fully formed productions.
In this class you will learn: 
*What stories are best suited for adaptation into story theatre.
*The power of narrators and how to unleash that power as part of a unique performance style.
*The storytelling styles of "stories on stools" and "people as props".
*Dialogue strategies & using the imagination with props and scenery.

I’m a mom of 6 kids and a grandma of 2! My youngest two kids enjoy participating in CYT classes and shows. I am certified to teach theatre for elementary through high school in Texas and have loved performing and directing in high school, college, and communities I have lived in. I love guiding CYT students in developing their talent and passion for theatre with Christian values at the forefront.
